The El-shalom convent was established and commissioned on the 30th of September, 2012,by the proprietor His lordship, Rt Rev’d. Dr. Samuel .C. Ezeofor (JP). The pioneer Bishop of Ogbaru diocese with a pioneer students of 33 girls admitted into JSS1. Facilities in the convent
In the convent, we have a well ventilated hostel, classroom block, good toilet facilities, functional borehole. A very good generating set, football field with other game facilities, table tennis, volleyball, badminton among others.
Subjects we offer
In junior secondary section (Js1-Js3). We offer the following subjects:
English, Mathematics, Igbo language, Social studies, Basic science, Agric science, Business studies, Basic technology, Cultural and creative arts, Computer studies, French language, Music, Christian religious studies, Civic education, Security education, Physical and health education, Moral instruction.
In senior secondary school SS1-SS3, we offer the following subjects:
English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Igbo language, Agric science, Economics, Computer science, Data processing, Government, CRS, Commerce, Accounting, Moral instruction.
Terms and Examination
In the convent, we have three terms, 1st,2nd and 3rd terms respectively. The convent’s examinations are held in the last term which is the 3rd term and that is our promotional examination. Our pass mark is usually 50% and above.
Entrance Examination
The convent conducts entrance examination based on the following subjects, English, Mathematics and General papers. After the entrance examination the successful ones normally come for interviews after which they collect their prospectus if they are successful. The convent is a full boarding school. We do not have any day student.

The curriculum of El-Shalom Convent is designed to take care of the Interest of students from all parts of the world. The school operates basically Nigerian curriculum but patterned to suit students from any other Part of the world.
